Larry The Lacaune sheep

The white  sheep above is Larry. 

Lacaune sheep are  a breed of sheep primarily known for their high milk production and are particulary valued in the dairy industry, especially for cheese production. 

Characteristics of the Lacaune sheep 
-Originated south of france
-renowned for their exceptional milk yield
-often used to make Roquefort cheese a famous blue cheese orginating in france. The milks composition is well suited for cheese making, contributing to the quality and flavour of the final product
- Adaptable to different climates and environment. They thrive in various conditions including mountainous  regions and lower altitudes. So our clifs he is well suited.

Kracken The Zwartble
Now our Kracken is a prize winner

Zwartbles are the Black sheep and are a distinctive breed that originates from the Netherlands. They are valued and better known for their wool and mest but are an acceptable milking sheep.

Characteristics of zwartbles
- Colouration. Most promient feature is their striking coat. They have a black or dark brown fleece, which provides a strong contrast to their white makings on their face, legs and tail. Gives them a striking appearance
- zwartbles are relatively large in appearance, with a sturdy and robust build.
- apart from their colour, They have a distinctive appearance with a white blade on their face and white socks on their legs. Their heads are usually clean and free from wool, which further emphasizes their unique markings 
- wool whilst not renowned like other breeds they produce coarse durable wool suitable for practical uses.
- their meat flavour is sought after by those who appreciate high quality lamb
- Temperament - they are known to have calm docile temperament making them easier to handle
- often shown as Kracken was for their striking apperance and qualities

East Friesian Sheep 



East Friesian Sheep are known for their high milk production. They originated in the east friesland region of northern Germany. These sheep are medium sized with white fleece, and both male and female typically have horns. They are raised for their milk which is often used to produce cheese. They are known for theor excellent milk yield and often cross bred to improve dairy production. Hence their boy will be a Lacuane Ram.

Blue Faced Leicester Sheep



The Blue faced leicester sheep is a breed originating in England, known for its distinctive blue face and white fleece. Its a medium to large sized sheep with long elegant neck and docile temperament. The breed is valued for its high quality wool, which is prized by handspinners and weavers. Often crossed with other breed to create meat lambs. We have found them a milky sheep so are going to use to make up the numbers. Time will tell if they are a milking sheep.
