Today the last lamb was born from this group of milking sheep a couple of weeks rest till the next lot of milking sheep start and then the commercial sheep. The next group of sheep has 35 twins, 6 singles and 13 trebles. high percentage this year.
The group that has just lambed are roughly half ewe and half Ram lambs. They are our dorset milk sheep cross so hopefully will lamb out of season but time will tell.
We have three little orphan lambs who we teaching to feed from the shepherds bucket. A bucket with the right temperature milk for them to be able to have milk when they need it. good excuse to cuddle lambs! Orphan as the mother had three lambs and she only has two teets so the decision to take the third lamb so all get the nutrients and milk they need to thrive.
Cheesewise we have sold all our last years cheese and have started to make more sheeps cheese. We have some nicely maturing in the cave and fridge as required.
We have all the five maturing so we will have cheese to sell again in a week
